Dandelion is full of potent antioxidants, which may explain why this plant has such broad applications for health. Dandelion may be effective in reducing inflammation caused by disease due to the presence of various bioactive compounds like polyphenols within the plant.
Though it is frequently used as a diuretic, dandelion lacks research on its effects. It is effective when taken by humans, but the potency of the effect and mechanism through which it occurs requires further investigation. It is possible that the diuretic effect is caused by a high potassium to sodium ratio. Dandelion is very high in potassium, with about 2.45% of its roots, dry weight, being potassium, while sodium makes up only 0.33% of the plant.
Traditional medicines that include dandelion usually intend it as a treatment for gastrointestinal ailments or inflammation. Some preliminary rodent evidence does suggest dandelion may be able to increase the rate at which food exits the stomach and enters the small intestine, but much more research is needed to confirm if this effect can be replicated through supplementation.
Recommended use or purpose:
Used in Herbal Medicine as a diuretic, to help increase bile flow, and to help stimulate appetite, help treat digestive disturbances (dyspepsia). Traditionally used in Herbal Medicine to increase the amount of urine to achieve flushing of the urinary tract as an adjuvant in minor urinary complaints.
Diuretic: For occasional use only
Recommended administration:
Oral, for adults and adolescents (12-18). Take 2 capsules, twice daily. For flushing of the urinary tract, indigestion, or loss of appetite: If symptoms persist beyond 2 weeks, consult a health care practitioner.

Non-medicinal Ingredients:
Magnesium stearate, maltodextrin

Contraindications:
If you have heart disease high or low blood pressure, kidney or liver disorder diabetes or edema (swelling of the hands, face, and feet) or are taking products containing diuretics, do not use this product.
Recommended storage condition:
Keep in a cool, dry place (below 25°c), away from direct sunlight and heat. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use if the security seal is broken.
